These letter books were the resource that started it all. We wanted a tangible way for students to practice letter names, sounds, and formation. These books provide all of this in a manner that is easy to practice and repeat; and students love the book format.

ABOUT

Each "week" of lessons covers one letter, both in the Lowercase and Uppercase. Because the majority of print that students will be reading is in the lowercase, we begin with the lowercase of each letter, which has it's own book. After a few days of practicing the lowercase of the letter, we suggest introducing the next book which contains the Uppercase and Lowercase together.

On each page of these letter books, students will have the opportunity to say the name of the letter, the sound of the letter, and a word that begins with that letter (except for the letter -x). The letter is printed in a large format for students to trace the letter as they say its name and sound, helping to create more connections in the brain.

TIPS & TRICKS

We recommend practicing the letter of the week each day with students. This can be as a quick warmup as a whole class or in reading groups.

We love having students use the eraser end of a large pencil to trace letters as they practice. This helps them practice their fine motor skills and makes the practice more fun.
